Woldies Wild Play

NEW FOR SUMMER 2024

Dig and play in 2 huge “Sand ponds”. A natural water and sand play space designed for imaginative play and hours of fun.

Run wild and free, set sail to sand island, brave the water spray stepping stones or serve up sandy treats for the family in Woldies Wild Kitchen!
Please note, we recommend bringing clothes you don’t mind your child getting mucky and a spare change.

Willow Maze and Giant Games

Woldies Willow Maze is a real hit with visitors of all ages. Families love discovering the giant games and playing together. Be warned it can get pretty competitive and you can easily lose a few hours in there!

Around 2000 willow trees make up the living and growing maze, which is now home to a variety of wildlife.

Woldies Railway

A ride on the Woldie’s Miniature railway is a must.

The 7.25″ Narrow Gauge Railway takes you on a whistle stop tour of Woldies. Beware a surprise waiting for you as you go through the tunnel!

Booking is upon arrival only, £2.50 per person. Please arrive early to guarantee a time slot.

Please be aware, there may be times when the train is unable to run due to adverse weather or mechanical problems.

Dino Maze

Timber Trail

Set within Woldies Wild Play the Timber Trail is loved by all ages. There is also a mini timber trail area for beginners.

Test your balance and agility to complete the trail!

Picnic benches make this a family favourite area for a bite to eat.

Den Zone

Team work is a must as you build together in Woldies Den Zone, some of the logs require some serious muscles to move!

Foot Golf & Foot Pool

BRAND NEW COURSE ADDED IN 2023

Revamped in 2023 to add new challenges and obstacles, foot golf remains a visitor favourite.

The 9 holes and natural obstables provide lots of family friendly competition. We can usually tell who’s won the round by who tells us it was their favourite thing to do at Woldies!

Don’t forget to also challenge friends and family to a lifesize game of footpool.

Woodland Walk

Explore Woldies beautiful Woodland Walk, and look out for animal sculptures and activities hiding a long the way.

Enjoy carpets of beautiful spring flowers, primrose, cowslips, grape hyacinth, bluebells and more. With plenty of seating, sit in dappled shade and listen to the birds in the tree tops. Plus don’t Woldies Tree Trail along the way, collect all the leaf rubbings to collect a nature mission stamp.

Bird Hide

We love birds at Woldies! From big buzzards soaring overhead to the tiny Goldcrest (the UK’s smallest bird!)

See which birds you can spot from Woldies bird hide. Located in the new bird wood and next to the new giant birds nest.

Bee Garden

A pollinators paridise! Woldies Bees and Friends Garden is packed full of plants that pollinators can’t resist!

Choose your favourite pollinator and challange your friends and family to see who can be the best pollinator of the giant flower!

Help Woldie with the Bumble Bee Count to identify and track the bees you see!

And from May Half Term the Honey Bees arrive in Woldies Giant Observation Hive….watch honey bees at work and see if you can spot the Queen Bee!

Butterfly Garden

A favourite spot to sit! Watch the butterflies on their favourite plants and help with Woldies Butterfly Count to identify and count the butterflies and moths you see!

Carp Ponds

Relax and listen to the waterfalls, watch dragonflies skating on the surface and spot the huge fish!

Tree Trail

Complete the tree trail to collect your Nature Mission Tree Stamp. Find all the trees, test you knowledge and collect the leaf rubbings.
